Stratton stars Dominic Cooper as the usual hero who doesn’t follow protocol and is described by his spy team as ‘reserved’. That may be putting it mildly, as Cooper appears to almost disappear in favor of ball-to-the-wall, non-stop action.
What is fascinating here is the supporting cast actually gets more screen time, and with the likes of Sir Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen and Tom Felton, who’s complaining? The plot is simple: find the mole, get back the biochemical weapon, kill the bad guy and get revenge for a fallen comrade. The taut musical score keeps the action spinning so well we almost forget about the thin plot line and trite writing. Add a few mild surprises and you’ll almost find yourself rooting for the villain.
